VERO BEACH - The Fresh Market will open its first Treasure Coast store at Miracle Mile at 9 a.m. Aug. 26, company executives said Wednesday.

"We are pleased to expand our reach in the Southeast and especially Florida," said Craig Carlock, the company's president and chief executive officer. "It has been exciting for us to see how the region has embraced The Fresh Market's concept of quality perishables, excellent customer service and a unique atmosphere, and we look forward to offering Vero Beach residents a rewarding new food shopping experience."

The store located at Vero Plaza, 526 21st St., marks the company's 22nd store in Florida. The Fresh Market, a chain of gourmet supermarkets based in North Carolina, will employ about 90 employees from the Treasure Coast.

The Vero Beach grand opening will include chef demonstrations, food sampling stations and a free sample bag of coffee for the first 1,000 customers. Additionally, the first 1,000 customers will be entered to win "The Fresh Market Pantry," consisting of a collection of The Fresh Market's own signature brands including spice sets, stocks, pastas, pancake mixes, gourmet sauces and jams valued at $1,000.

The store will house over 20,800 square feet of specialty groceries and will include a bakery that produces 30 freshly baked breads and 12 different varieties of pies daily. The store will also feature a full service meat counter and a wide variety of ready-to-serve entrées,

"Our customers enjoy shopping in an environment that appeals to all the senses," Carlock said.

The Fresh Market executives said fresh seafood will be delivered to the store several times a week. The store will also carry more than 200 imported and domestic cheeses in a produce department with more than 400 items and a large organic selection.

The Fresh Market, a family-owned and privately held company, currently operates 88 stores in 17 states. It was started in 1982 by Ray and Beverly Berry in Greensboro, N.C.

FRESH MARKET, Vero Beach Florida, OPENING IN AUGUST 2009

                              

                               VERO BEACH FLORIDA is going to have THE FRESH MARKET!

                                      I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS OPENING IN AUGUST 2009!

The first TREASURE COAST location for THE FRESH MARKET is on the MIRACLE MILE in
VERO BEACH FLORIDA!  The gourmet supermarket chain based in North Carolina is set
to make its debut on August 26, 2009. 

THE FRESH MARKET recruiters were in town at the VERO BEACH HOTEL & SPA for a career
open house day.  The opening will bring 85 new jobs to our area.....

I am not familiar with THE FRESH MARKET so I am looking forward to its opening.  In
CHICAGO I shopped at WHOLE FOODS and my very favorite TRADER JOE'S.
